Carrot 1 PC.
Salted cucumbers 2-3 pcs.

  • Fry the chopped onions and carrots on the "Baking" mode for 15 minutes, add tomato paste and chopped cucumbers, and fry for another 5 minutes.
  • Add meat (whole piece), well-washed barley, chopped potatoes to a slow cooker. Add water to the required density.
  • Set the Extinguishing mode for 2.5 hours. At the end of cooking, taste, add salt, pepper, spices, bay leaf if necessary and let stand for another 5 minutes. Remove the meat, cut into pieces and add to the pickle.
  • Serve with sour cream and herbs.

Note

I do not remember where I found this recipe, maybe on a good cook. We don't have it on the forum, but I think the recipe is very successful and very simple to execute, so I decided to post it. Such a rich pickle with well-cooked barley on the stove is difficult to prepare.

The child likes very much, although he does not really like soups.

Just an additive.
I put potatoes in 30 min. before the end of the cooking time, be it a pickle, or a hodgepodge (in a cartoon - of course !!!).
Due to the presence of rassal, potatoes may not boil well if placed immediately.
The idea is not mine, a relative of a sous-chef in a good Russian restaurant.

I'm wondering if you put it at the beginning, then it won't finish, but if at the end, then it will be good that I don't understand, where is the logic ... or does the potato have its own? Although I know for sure that acid should be added to borsch-soups last for this very reason.
Admin

I can't say anything about the logic of potatoes.
But yesterday I made cabbage soup from sauerkraut with mushrooms and barley. I put absolutely all the products in the pan, filled it with water and set it for 2 hours. It was enough and 1.5 hours, everything was ready and cooked, the potatoes were not boiled. Maybe in my area the potatoes are special, but I never boil them, the barley is already swollen above the roof, and the potatoes are normal. And not because it was cooked with cabbage pickle, it's just that my potatoes never boil until mashed.

it's just that my potatoes never boil until mashed.

And excuse the question, your own potatoes, or purchased ??
Since maybe if it's its own, then it's the sort, but you can buy the young one (imported), it is in the bulk, just from the non-starchy varieties ...

And we have our own potatoes - and the varieties are ONLY starchy, for mashed potatoes that's what you need, and so ...

Purchased potatoes.
From my culinary observations - potatoes boil well when boiled in water (broth) under a stormy stream of water when boiling or boiling.
If potatoes are cooked in a slow cooker, (steamed or in a saucepan type Zepter, where there is no large flow and turbulence of the liquid), the potatoes always turn out whole, even if cut into pieces.
And then, for soups, I always buy some potatoes that don't boil.

Girls, in the stewing mode, the potatoes, at least for me, compared her dacha and the store, even after 3 hours of cooking, it remains intact.
And if you cook on stewing in an acidic environment, then you need at least 1.5 - 2 hours, otherwise it will be raw. Therefore, Linka set 2.5 hours. The potatoes were ready by this time, but not boiled.
On the program for a couple potatoes will cook faster because they boil. Admin rightly noticed.
Linka, but did not try to add a glass of brine itself at the end of cooking for 15 minutes? Delight! But cucumbers and pickle should be salted, not pickled. True, the child will probably be spicy. But my 5-year-old granddaughter likes this one, though sour cream thumps there decently

Thanks so much for the delicious recipe. Only probably you have a norm for a large cartoon? For a small multi pearl barley, I took exactly two times less, and still it turned out very thick, I had to cook the broth on the stove and dilute the porridge

Yummy!!! Fast, tasty, nutritious! Awesome dish!
I usually make pickle with rice, but now I've found a great use for barley! It's even more interesting! The only moment, if you eat it right away, then the barley seems a little undercooked (although who likes it). Next time, I will soak it in water for a while to make it more boiled.
And so - very, very much!
Thanks to the author!

And this is according to your taste - either so that the spoon stands and does not fall, or it was thin.

Girls, I want to share my know-how, don't throw your current slippers
Barley is cooked for a long time ...
Therefore, when the cartoon is free, I cook it slowly, almost until ready, in a strategic stock, and cool it in a container in the freezer. When I cook mushroom soup or pickle, I take the amount I need and put it in the soup. The cooking time is reduced significantly, and the taste, well, does not suffer a bit
Zni4ka
Will it boil a lot?
And if now put the soup in the morning does not exercise?
nata_v
It won't boil anything at all! After the set cooking time, the multicooker will switch to heating mode and in the morning you will have a hot pickle !!!
Zni4ka
OH thanks for the recipe!
Delicious soup turned out
True, instead of meat, the ribs were thrown in, but also niche!
Acquaintance with the multicooker was successful

Thank you very much!
I did everything according to the recipe, just did not take into account that I had a small multicooker - I needed half the cereal. An hour later I looked in - the water as in thick soup - not mine. It's good to have a large slow cooker, I poured my soup there, added a glass of brine and some water. And the beauty - there will be four liters of soup! By the way, the potatoes were almost ready in an hour.
And in a multicooker, condensed milk is already being prepared

Today I made a pickle according to your recipe on my Perfezza PR-55.
I fried everything in casserole mode, added 1 multi-glass of pearl barley (such as it was in the kit), if it would have turned out more thick (I realized when everything was already done), the meat was 400g beef (just that much). In general, this is my first pickle in general (and I did not do it on the stove), I extinguished for 2.5 hours (maybe it could have been less, I don’t know), I even added a little more water to the mark, nothing ran out (I think you can do this on extinguishing) , everything turned out super - the meat was boiled (it was very tasty), barley too (neither boiled, nor stuck into porridge).

The author has not come in for a long time, which is a pity. Thank you very much Linke for pickle recipe. Cooked today, yummy !!!!!!

Kind people! tell me, can I put meat on the bone?
How to cook then? all according to the recipe? Or, first, just the broth, and then everything else? ...
almost all soup recipes are meat. I understand - no bones.
I recently had MV, and I always cooked soup like this: meat on the bone + just a piece of meat.

With meat on the bone, I think you need to be careful. It's a very tender saucepan. The only thing is, if you cook as suggested: add everything to the pan at one time, salt and pepper for 15 minutes. But in this case, I would not interfere, so as not to scratch the pan with a bone. And when the pickle, the soup, is ready, gently take out the meat with the bone, and then pour the soup into a regular saucepan. That is, it is necessary to minimize the risk of damage to the mulcher saucepan as much as possible.
I pledged everything at once. It turned out to be a very tasty pickle. I put it on stewing for 2 hours. But barley, as advised here, was doused with boiling water and left soaked in a glass overnight. And I still do frying in a frying pan on gas. It's inconvenient for me to interfere in the cartoon, and it fries there for sooooo long
Beretta
Thank you for such a quick response!
Took note of the information. Let's be careful!

Urrrah! So I found a like-minded person!
I don’t fry in CF either. On the gas stove it is more convenient and faster for me.

Be sure to be, because one saucepan is difficult to buy, and as I understand it, it costs, almost like the unit itself

I also do not get hung up on the fact that everything is in one "bottle", it is important for me that time is freed up in the main process, in this case there is no need to remove the foam, to watch that nothing escapes, in short, close it and forget it. And if the auxiliary work is faster on gas, then I will do it on gas

Thanks for the recipe.
I cooked a week ago, it was delicious.
vesna1905
The recipe is great! Everything turned out very tasty. Now I will cook pickles more often
You can put a little less pearl barley on my 5 liter. But all the same it came out not too thick, just right. The husband just loves thinner.
Irina413
Tell me, how much water is needed for 1 multi-glass of pearl barley?
Victory1984
Thanks a lot for the recipe. I did it on pork, only cooked the pork beforehand, and drained the water with a noise. Instead of barley, I used rice. I did it on the SUP mode.
This is my first pickle and it turned out Thank you again

: hi: I put pickle on the stew * the countdown goes back, and nothing is boiling yet! it worries me!
Frying was done on the stove, rice (instead of barley), meat, potatoes were added to the water
Is that how it should be (I'm on the count of time without boiling)?
kseniya D
On stewing, you will not boil violently. Don't worry, everything will be ready by the appointed time. If something confuses you, you can turn on "steam cooking" at the end for 2-3 minutes. I never do this.
LudaMila
10 minutes left and really boils spices thrown, and even tasted it - it's ready

Thank you very much for the recipe! Delicious pickle. I cooked today, the eldest ate with the addition

Linka, delicious soup! Thank you! I made pasta without tomato, cut a few tomatoes)
Deer
The soup turned out to be delicious, nothing boiled over - everything was as it should be. I especially liked that you don't need a lot of body movements. I will definitely cook on vacation away. I loaded everything up and left, then I added frying and voila - lunch is ready
