Winter berry kissel

Kissel berry winter

Ingredients

Frozen assorted berries 300gr
water 800ml
sugar taste
cinnamon 1 stick
vanilla sugar 0.5h l.
starch 2 tbsp. l.

Cooking method

  • For some reason, this jelly is always for children. Probably because I cook it for children, and I myself drink it a little bit. It is winter, because it is a little spicy, thick, with a concentrated taste and vitamin-healthy. I like to take in unequal parts cranberries, lingonberries / blueberries / currants, strawberries / raspberries. That is, always add one (just the largest) part of very fragrant berries such as strawberries and / or raspberries. And lingonberries / cranberries, etc. give a bright sour taste, which must be "suppressed" with sugar))). But cranberries and lingonberries are very useful. I cook it with jelly, since the whipped mass of berries already gives a thick liquid and it somehow does not go with compote. Often it is prepared during the period of colds and if you are ill at home. A warm thick mass envelops the throat, but I will not talk about the usefulness of cranberries and lingonberries for colds.
  • 1. Pour the berries (directly frozen) with a small amount of boiling water so that it covers them (it will defrost them immediately) and beat with a blender into a complete fairly homogeneous puree.
  • 2. Add water to about 800 ml and put on fire. Immediately throw in the cinnamon stick and vanilla, sugar. Try it. Seems very harsh - add water. But I love the concentrated flavor.
  • 3. While the mass is boiling, dilute the starch with a couple of tablespoons of cold boiled water until smooth.
  • 4. Let the boiled mass boil for a minute, pour a mixture of starch and water in a thin stream, stirring continuously, let it boil for another minute and turn it off. We have preserved the maximum possible amount of vitamins by avoiding a long boil.
  • 5. Remove the cinnamon stick or leave to cool in the mass of jelly, then the cinnamon flavor will be more pronounced.
  • 6. Everything. Drink slightly warm and enjoy life.))) If your taste seems very harsh / sour and sugar does not correct the situation, it is allowed to slightly dilute it with boiling water (which my children just do not do with it, to be honest).

I hate kissel since kindergarten, but for some reason I really want to try this one, and immediately ... In general, today I will do it, then I will write off how it is ... Maybe it is worth trying more cocoa, dried fruit compote and everything else that I have been trying to avoid for the last ... well, in general, for many, many years, also from kindergarten?

How worth it, by the way. I hated cilantro since childhood, and a couple of years ago there were beginnings. Tastes change, so do we ...
You then starch (are we on "you", like ?! or do I have glitches?) Put less, 1 heaped tablespoon. It will be just a little thick. In principle, it itself is already thickish due to the mass of berry puree. I usually correct the density during the play. I will add starch, and when I pour it, I see how thick the result is. The starch is immediately brewed. Enough or add more. When hot, the taste is sharper. It softens on cooling. The son has already pouted. Ulyasha did not let go of a cup of jelly, although I tried to steam her soup. Smacked so - the neighbors could hear))).

Well, the time has come for jelly. Yesterday Qween showed how to make jelly without film, today - new jelly! I love this business ...But there is a problem - lumps from starch
And as a child, I very much respected such a dish in kindergarten as semolina cutlets with jelly, always asked for an addition

Dilute starch with water (pour starch with a small amount of water, as I wrote in the recipe, it is easily moistened with a small amount of water and dissolves perfectly in it). Stir the starch directly with a spoon, stir, stir, and immediately in a thin stream (the mixture should be of such a consistency that it pours. A little water - add a little) you start pouring into the boiling berry mass, stirring the jelly itself with the same spoon. I never have lumps. If the starch / water mixture has been set and left to stand, stir again before pouring (the starch quickly settles to the bottom of the cup). Again, take a glass, stir-stir and immediately start pouring into boiling water. Here.

It turns out I really love jelly. And I have always loved. No lumps, no foams, no films ... And the smell !!! As in the song: "How many years have been lost, they cannot be returned" ...
Thank you Natasha! Very tasty and simple!

The color is freaky, like mine!)))

And the color, and taste, and smell !!! In general: "You don't like cats? You just don't know how to cook them."

jelly is the taste of childhood! Everybody loves him. children mostly with semolina cutlets (while they were little) ... And I myself - hot and with a roll, with butter! I mainly cook it from cranberries. And strawberries in the form of jam there, for sweetness. Assorted as you, Natasha, did not think of doing it.
The question arose. About cinnamon. In view of my "darkness" I have never seen cinnamon sticks .. only in powder. In the city, of course, they sell it somewhere. Natasha, what if you put the ground in there? How long to? Well, I wonder what the taste is !!!
Scarecrow
I have cinnamon sticks just in the jar in the photo.)))

Sprinkle the ground. Why not? Just literally at the tip of a knife. In sticks, it gives a very soft taste, slightly noticeable (I pull it out right after cooking, I don't like the strong taste of cinnamon).

And add the strawberry jam right away and whip with a blender in mashed potatoes with the berries and then follow the recipe. And the sweetness will be and the strawberry smell is wonderful.

And I bake rolls. In cream. I thought they would eat my buns with jelly - that's dinner. Yeah. Kissel has been gone for a long time. Still to cook or what? ... I'm sitting pensive.

And I also hide bacon from the youngest member of the family ... I ate three pieces and asks for more. The fat had to be removed from sight, and the little pig was sent to take a shower with her dad.)))

So I thought it was SHE! I was not mistaken ... I will definitely try to throw it straight a bit. Even a purely sports interest has arisen - what about cinnamon? Not today already ...

Do you think that after a shower he will not ask - and where is my bacon !!!
Irishka CH
ABOUT! And at least potato starch? Or maybe some kind of overseas thread? And again I don’t know.
gala10
I have potato starch and cinnamon powder. Vkuuusnoo !!!

Oh, our man, he didn't ask anything.)))

Irishka CH

Now I have cornstarch in my house, our mothers have cooked it with potatoes all their lives, so it doesn't matter. Take what you like.

Lard after a shower? No, she will ask. After taking a shower, she rubs her eyes, yawns terribly and looks into space with her new eyes))). Her thoughts are only about the bed.)))
Irishka CH
Natasha !!! Tell me, why didn't I think of putting cinnamon in berry jelly earlier? I love her, everywhere I "shove": into buns-rolls, and pickled mushrooms, and canned tomatoes! Already in apples - this is sacred! But in jelly, even a thought did not arise! In general, I made an assortment of currants, cranberries and put not strawberries there, but mashed strawberries. And cinnamon as taught Scarecrow ,

Taste! Thank you, dear, for the science !!!

py. sy. and also with your cottage cheese muffins, which are simply registered in my family! Only I got used to throwing small candied fruits in them instead of raisins, otherwise some civilians don't like it ...

And they registered with me. It is with raisins. I also tried it with dried apricots, but with raisins it tastes better to me. And the jelly also took root. Thank you!

Yesterday I looked at the remnants of the berries and, damn it, forgot to cook ... Eh. I'm leaving for Italy tomorrow. Having gorged on pizza, I'll return to jelly!)))

Did you go to kindergarten?

Semolina cutlets. Usually stood and "shook". Egg in them, sometimes starch is added, according to the situation, a little, molded, rolled in breadcrumbs and fried in butter until crusty. Jelly served as a gravy.
mowgli
I went, and for a year, both in Tyumen and in Pyatigorsk, and took the children with us in Stavropol, they did not do that)))

I prepared everything for winter jelly, I adore jelly!

I still remember them with a shudder.

Cool jelly! The main thing is a simple recipe and very simply written. While I was reading the rest, I changed my mind about embodying, but here it is simple and fast. I made on the basis of raspberry-blueberry - these are the "Chelyuskinites" I have left in the refrigerator for the month of May.
Nata, thanks. It turned out very tasty jelly. Water, by the way, can be slightly increased for the summer version. And for the winter - the very thing.
Scarecrow
Yes, in the summer, to be refreshing and easier to drink, you can and thinner. So in the summer, the berries also start fresh ... Beauty, I also cooked recently ...))
Duffy
For us, this jelly has become a downright "ordinary dish" from November to March. Tasty, healthy ...
A great recipe for the cold season! Thank you!
Scarecrow
Duffy,

Oh, nice so. Thanks for your feedback. And for a reminder!
Scarecrow
How fragrant he is! It's blueberry. Sooooo delicious. It has long been gone))).
