  • Recently I watched the French film "Chef for the President". Despite the poor translation, through which it was difficult to get through to the meaning of what was happening, I liked the film. Including what is there, what to cook.
  • The plot is simple: the beautiful woman chef Hortense tries to feed the President of France with the best dishes of national cuisine. And young carrots with tops, Savoy cabbage and linen napkins, in which generations of French grandmothers boiled their culinary masterpieces, go into battle.

  • The only thing that needs clarification is the broth for boiling and the time. I didn't understand exactly what was in the movies, so I just threw dry roots and greens into the broth from the cabbage leaves (it was left when I took the cabbage into leaves), as in the most ordinary broth. Salted, of course, and cooked over low heat for 40 minutes. Slices of fish before laying in the leaves were salted, pepper and sprinkled with lemon juice.

  • I made a fancy sauce for cabbage (that is, as necessary) - boiled the cream with a spoonful of mustard, a pinch of nutmeg, a little salt, a slice of butter and a pinch of flour.
