Masala tea - Indian drink (two options)

Ingredients

milk 0.75 st
water 0.75 st
cinnamon 1 stick
anise (not used) 1 star
cardamom 3 buds
fennel 2 seeds
fresh ginger root 2 circles
tea leaves 2 tsp
honey 1 tsp

Cooking method

  • Masala Tea, literally "spiced tea", is known as a traditional Indian drink with a thousand-year history.
  • The tea is so good that in the morning I often replace it with coffee, because it invigorates better and longer coffee and does not contain caffeine.
  • Masala tea helps with sluggish digestion, drowsiness, lack of energy, anemia, and helps to remove toxins from the body.
  • In summer it quenches thirst, and in cold weather it warms.
  • There are many recipes for this tea, but they all have four main ingredients: tea, milk, spices, and a sweetener.
  • It is better to use fresh whole milk, and "warm" spices: cardamom, cinnamon, fennel seeds, cloves, nutmeg, saffron, almonds, anise, licorice root.
  • 1 tea option.
  • Masala tea - Indian drink (two options)
  • 1. Bring water with spices and ginger over low heat to a boil.
  • Masala tea - Indian drink (two options)
  • 2. Pour milk and tea into the water. Again simmer the drink over low heat, without boiling (5 minutes).
  • Masala tea - Indian drink (two options)
  • Put honey or sugar at the bottom of the cup and pour tea through a sieve.
  • Milk ginger tea.
  • Masala tea - Indian drink (two options)
  • Bring 300 ml of milk to a boil, reduce heat and add grated ginger (0.5 tsp) and sugar (to taste).
  • As soon as the milk begins to boil, put the tea and simmer the drink (2-3 minutes).
  • Strain the finished tea straight into cups.

Note

If you have a sleepless night, add a little more nutmeg to your tea and you will be awake.

And stronger masala interrupts the feeling of hunger and thirst.

The Hindus also have their own trick: before adding spices to milk, they fry them in ghee (ghee).

A husband from India brought a bunch of spices and this masala about a year ago. We thought for a long time what it is. By the name, they judged that the seasoning for tea, tried to add to the usual, did not really like it. We must again find this box and try it with milk (do not waste the product). thanks for the information

Kasanko, such goodness cannot be lost!
Try it with milk and leaf tea - you'll love it! Let at first masala be just an energetic and medicine for you, then you will fall in love with this tea, I am sure - it was not for nothing that my husband brought it!
At the moment he helped me in the fight against colds! So I really like its taste ...
And the Hindus in each family have their own set of spices for masala, which is passed down from generation to generation, and I have to invent my own recipe ...

Marisa, the tea is awesome! I will definitely try! And I buy masala in Indian spices. They are different there. There is both spicy masala and mild. I add it to meat and fish. People are surprised: "What did you add there? Very good!" And I say: "Love potion so that you all call me and love ..."
MariS
Olesya, thanks. I know that Hindus sell masala and there are many recipes for it.
This one is the simplest.Try it now. It is very convenient to make tea yourself - add those spices that we love ...
And I also add spices to the second courses - it turns out a unique taste.

Marishka, thanks, read it! I described everything beautifully and correctly. Spices are a great thing!

Thank you, Irisha! I, too, now began to treat spices differently. The main thing, in my opinion, is to like them, to be "yours" or something ... And then they work wonders!
Merri
Sometimes it takes time to taste a spice. Over time comes a kind of experience, an understanding of where and how to use them.
MariS
I agree with you completely Irish!
Sooner or later, but we come to spices. It's good when national traditions, including culinary ones, are passed down from generation to generation! We still have to grow before that ...

Marina! I tried and got hooked on this tea
MariS
naya, Natasha, I am very glad that I like tea!
Drink for health once the body requires! Thanks for your feedback.

Sorry to write in your subject, I bought this tea
Masala tea - Indian drink (two options)
This is probably for those who want to try and do not want to collect tea,
the truth on the packaging says that it is brewed with water, I brew super milk.

I also have this tea - it’s been lying for a long time ... I opened the package and realized that I didn’t like the smell. In addition, the tea in my recipe should not be boiled, but here everything is mixed - you will have to separate the spices from the tea and then cook.

In the morning I decided to try it. Separated the spices - I had to add my own cinnamon and ginger. Cooked ...
Not a bad option for those who are lazy to cook from their own spices.

Marishechka, and according to the second method, we also do not boil, but only languish?

put tea and boil the drink over low heat (2-3 minutes).

And I would have cooked ...

Little baby, but it's true, it turns out delicious! I think it will help to indulge in some tea - from overeating! Happy New Year to you and your family - happiness, joy, prosperity!
