Cooking method

  • Above was a gentle blue sky lined with intricate patterns of planes scurrying back and forth. Downstairs there were spruces in white fluffy fur coats. Snowflakes circled and waltzed under the bright smiling sun. They sparkled like a myriad of rainbow stars. The soft frost gently stroked the cheeks, and the nose diligently sucked in the magical aroma of spruce branches and the approaching holiday. A walk in the woods cheered up and gave strength to prepare for the holiday.
  • And let, in this newly rented apartment in this small town, a light bulb hangs from the ceiling, and the crooked walls are bashfully hiding under the still Soviet wallpaper. But all the same, nothing can prevent us from enjoying a wonderful series of holidays.
  • And what about the light bulb? So she will get a bit of the holiday and the decoration of the Christmas wreath.

  • So let's get down to creating a miracle.
  • First, we will bake fragrant cookies, which will become the center of the New Year's composition:

  • In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, sugar, sour cream, and eggs into a fluffy mass. Mix flour, salt and baking soda and add to the oil mixture. Add vanillin and almond extract (I didn't have the extract). If you are not sick of the smell of cinnamon, orange and lemon zest, then feel free to add all this to the dough! The aroma and taste of the cookies will become divine from this !!! Knead a soft dough and, covered with foil, put in the cold for 1 - 2 hours.
  • On a well-floured surface (or like me, on a silicone mat), roll out the dough into a layer about 1/2 cm thick. Cut the cookies into cookie cutters. Angels, snowmen, stars, bells, house, snowflakes. I get these molds out of the table only once a year on the eve of the New Year. They are stored in a tin box and when it is held in hands, butterflies begin to flutter in the shower from the upcoming magic! An important point: if you use cookies as a decoration on a Christmas tree or wreath, do not forget to make rounded holes in it for ribbons with a diameter of 0.5 - 1 cm! Spread the sliced cookies on a baking sheet and bake until the edges are sunny golden. I baked on a silicone mat, and it is very convenient to remove cookies from it.
  • When your cookies have cooled down, it's time for magic and fun. Take an egg white and beat it slightly with a fork. Continuing to beat, gradually add the sifted icing sugar until you get a mass of sour cream consistency. What we got will be both glaze and glue for construction. Gently transfer the entire resulting mass into a cellophane bag. And now an important jewelry and surgical moment: one corner of the bag needs to be cut off so that a hole with a diameter of 1 millimeter is obtained. You hotly waved the scissors 3 centimeters at once ??? No problem! Just squeeze out and pour the mass into a new bag and practice with circumcision until then, until you are lucky.
  • And now we have fun: we draw snowflakes and bells, Christmas trees and snowmen, glue and build a house, decorate its roof with icicles and a Christmas star. In a word, we draw and do everything that you associate with the upcoming holiday. Just do not forget to whisper good and generous wishes!
  • Our cookies are ready and put to dry until the morning. And we will weave a Christmas wreath. For him, we need a base in the form of a ring. I had an old wooden embroidery hoop on hand. But you can use a wire or a twig from a bush. Depending on how large the diameter you want to get the wreath, the length of the wire-rod will be from 100 centimeters. Having folded the ring, we begin to attach it to it, winding spruce branches with narrow tape or a wire wire. Now we take the wreath in our hands and admire it for a couple of minutes! The beauty!!!
  • Your cookie is dry and ready to decorate both the table and the Christmas wreath. We put narrow satin ribbons into it and hang it on a wreath. Since my wreath was intended to decorate a light bulb, two wide satin ribbons were tied to it crosswise, and it was erected in its rightful place for celebration.
  • The aroma of cinnamon, spruce branches and orange peel floating around the room from the biscuits intoxicates the mind and causes euphoria. HURRAH!!! The holiday has begun !!!

Aha! They are the most. When I bought it four years ago, at first I was upset why I took it. And when I baked for the first time, I liked the forms, they turned out to be successful.
