Linz tart

Ingredients

wheat flour 130g
sugar 100g
chilled butter 150g
almonds (hazelnuts) 130g
ground cinnamon 1 tsp
ground cloves 0.5 tsp
salt pinch
egg 1 PC
jam, thick jam 300g

Cooking method

  • Any Viennese cafe will definitely offer you Viennese coffee in a tall glass and a slice of Linz tart. This is an Austrian cake or jam pie. A characteristic feature of the pie is a thin dough grate that decorates the filling layer.
  • The Linz tart got its name from the city of Linz and is the most common Austrian cake in the world. It is the sweet dishes that have made Viennese cuisine popular all over the world!
  • We take flour, sugar, butter, nuts, spices and salt and mix everything in a food processor until crumbs are formed.
  • We make a depression in the mixture, drive in an egg and knead the dough. Roll the dough into a ball and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Divide the chilled dough into 2 unequal parts. Roll out most of it and distribute it over a baking dish (diameter 23 cm). Put the jam on top.
  • Cut the strips from the remaining dough.
  • Linz tart
  • Decorate the top of the cake with stripes and bake it in an oven preheated to 180 * C for 35 minutes.
  • You can decorate the cake with almond petals (I have coconut).
