Poppy surprise cake

Ingredients

Dark cake:
Wheat flour 3 tbsp.
Sugar 2.5 tbsp.
Egg 2 pcs.
Vanilla
Sour cream 2 tbsp.
Slaked soda 1.5 tsp.
Cocoa 4 tbsp. l.
Rolls:
Egg 4 things.
Sugar 1 tbsp.
Vanilla
Wheat flour 1 tbsp.
Ammonium 1 tsp
Filling:
Poppy 2 tbsp.
Oil 200 g
Sugar 0.5-1 tbsp.
Chopped roasted nuts
Fudge:
Chocolate bar 1 large
Fat sour cream 1 tbsp.
Cream:
Fat sour cream 1 l
Sugar 2 tbsp.
Vanilla sugar
Gelatin 3 tbsp. l.

Cooking method

  • Dark cake:
  • Mix all the ingredients and bake one cake (on a large baking sheet covered with baking paper). Cool, and cut so that you get two large cakes.
  • Rolls:
  • Beat eggs and sugar. Add ammonia and flour and stir gently with a spoon. Bake one cake (slightly smaller than the first cake layers, but they should have one side of the same length)
  • Cut the resulting cake in half, so that you get two cakes, the length of which is equal to the width of the brown cake. the resulting 2 cakes, cut in the same way as the dark cakes, in two, in order to end up with 4 thin cakes. We immediately fold them into a tube.
  • Filling:
  • Rinse the poppy seeds, pour boiling water over. Leave to steam for 1-2 hours. Strain, grind in a mortar, add sugar and butter and grind well again. Add nuts.
  • Fudge:
  • 1 large bar of chocolate
  • 1 cup full-fat sour cream
  • Heat the chocolate and beat with sour cream.
  • Cream:
  • 1 liter of fat sour cream + 0.5-1 tbsp. milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • vanilla sugar
  • 3 tbsp. l. gelatin
  • Pour gelatin with water and let it swell. If the sour cream is thick, it is very dangerous to beat it right away with a mixer - you can interrupt it. Therefore, I always dilute very thick sour cream with cold boiled milk. And only then I add sugar and begin to beat. Melt the gelatin, strain and add to the cream. We make the cream last.
  • Assembling the cake:
  • Grease the cakes for rolls with poppy filling, and again roll them up.
  • The bottom cake is dark, greased with cream. On it, at a distance from each other, lay out 4 poppy rolls.
  • Poppy surprise cake
  • Fill the spaces between the rolls and on top with cream. Cover with a second dark cake. Fill everything on top with fondant.

When I first decided to make it, I thought that I would replace ammonium with a baking powder, for some reason I don't really like him, or, more precisely, I never baked with him. But I decided to do everything as in the recipe for the purity of the experiment. And I still don't change it. Therefore, from my experience, at the expense of replacement, there is nothing to share.
And singularity and originality - yes! The guests are bewildered, and after the tasting they are completely delighted.

Skip through a meat grinder several times, the first two times just poppy, and the third you can with sugar. Then the sugar will be smaller. You can add a spoonful of flour to the finished poppy, then the mass will become, as it were, viscous, more homogeneous or something.

Time passes and everything changes. Now I grind the poppy with a blender, with my foot. If you press hard on the poppy seed, then it comes out quite decently. And most importantly, it's easier on your hands!

In general, as I saw this recipe, all the saliva went out and all the time I chose what to try to bake! I am in a hurry with gratitude, delight and admiration for the taste!
Nuances:
1) I took not 4 but 5 eggs into the dough for the roll
2) on the sides between the rolls, I covered the sides with cream so that the cream would not spill out.
3) I added pine nuts to the poppy filling

In general, a complete delight. It took about 2 hours to cook (without decoration), for this layout the cake came out almost 5 kg. Three families ate, and even people dragged off a piece to work so that everyone would be fooled there too!

I made this cake, only my dark cake turned out to be very large and high (baking sheet 30 * 40), so I had to use only half of the dark cake by cutting it into two layers. The filling for the rolls is very tasty, now I even make pies with it. Delicious cake and very large
