Snack Salad

Ingredients

white cabbage 1.5KG
cucumbers 1 kg
green tomatoes 1 kg
bell pepper red 1 kg
carrot 0.5KG
onion 0.5KG
garlic 5 teeth
dill, parsley 1/2 bundle
vinegar 9% 300 ml
salt taste
vegetable oil
Bay leaf
allspice and black pepper
bitter pepper 1 PC.

Cooking method

  • This salad tastes similar to that "Snack", which was sold in 0.5 liter jars. Or more like Hungarian in huge cans. It was delicious!
  • Vegetable weight is indicated in pure form.
  • Cut the vegetables not finely or very thinly so that the salad is crispy. I cut tomatoes in medium pieces 5 mm thick, cucumbers, carrots - in half rings also 4-5 mm each, peppers and onions - in short strips, cabbage - in short "noodles". Squeeze the garlic through the garlic, chop the herbs. Peel the hot peppers and chop finely.
  • Place all chopped vegetables in a large wide-bottomed saucepan and season with salt to taste. The salad should be salty, add vinegar and mix. Leave the vegetables to marinate for 40 minutes.
  • Then put the pan on the fire and heat the vegetables without boiling, stir several times. Tomatoes and cucumbers should change color to olive.
  • Wash the cans, pour 3 tbsp into the bottom of a 1 liter can. l. vegetable oil (in 0.5 l - incomplete 2 tbsp. l), put 1 bay leaf, 2 pcs. allspice, 4-5 pcs. black.
  • Put the salad together with the juice in the jars, cover and sterilize 1 liter of the jar for 35 minutes,
  • 0.5 l - 25 minutes. Close. Wrap until cool.

Mayan, green tomatoes are not a problem to find. Here the cucumbers are almost over, I bought 10 grams per 1 kg. But that was the most expensive thing in this salad, everything else is no more than 2.5 grams.

Delicious salad! Thank you! Cooked several times over the past summer and fall. My husband doesn't like vegetables, but he eats this salad like that ...: wow: In general, it wasn't enough for the winter. Now we will do even more!
