Ingredients

Waffles or any other confection that mimics Belgian waffles 9 pieces
Homemade cream 200 g
Powdered sugar 70 g
Jelly with strawberry flavor (90 gr) 2 packages
Boiled water 400 ml
Large strawberries 9 pieces

Cooking method

  • First of all, if you don't have a waffle maker for Belgian waffles, buy a confection similar to these waffles. I've found this. It is called "Honeycomb". Probably belongs to the category of cookies. It is advisable to choose smooth, neat rectangles. I didn't succeed, so I got flaws.
  • Cake Almost Belgian waffles
  • To make jelly, take a detachable rectangular shape, roughly proportioned to the number of your "wafer" blanks and their size. I had a square shape 25 * 25 cm. Lay out the shape with foil with sides.
  • 2 packets of ready-made strawberry-flavored jelly: I have produced "Mriya". Package weight 90 gr. and is designed for 1 bag for 400 ml of water. I used 2 bags for 400 ml of water - and it turns out just right! Of course, as the strawberries become more readily available, the jelly can be made from natural juice. But in this case, take 400 ml of hot boiled water, pour 2 bags of jelly there and stir until completely dissolved. Pour into a prepared square dish and refrigerate overnight. Try to put it evenly so that the height over the entire area of ​​the jelly is the same. And this height will be no more than 1 cm.

  • Cream: cream (if very thick, add a little milk), beat with icing sugar until volume and fluffiness increase. Sarna powder is, of course, to your taste: more, less.
  • Rinse the strawberries well and let them dry. If it has green tails on it, don't cut it off.
  • Now it remains only to collect all our "parts".
  • We take out the finished frozen jelly. Gently draw on the sides with a thin knife. We remove the sides of the main form. Only the bottom remains, on which our jelly rests. We put our "waffles" on jelly. I already had 8 pieces to the finish line - I didn't keep track of it !!! So don't buy back to back.
  • And now with a knife we ​​cut through the jelly with horizontal and vertical lines in the shape of waffles (rows and columns).

  • Place a plane on top of the laid waffles, slightly larger than the size of the jelly sheet. It can be a flat light board, some kind of tray, etc. Prying the bottom of the form with jelly from below, turn it over so that your tray or plate is at the bottom, and the bottom of the form is on top. This bottom can be easily removed and only the foil remains, which must be carefully removed from the jelly. First, you need to "peel" a little jelly from the foil with a knife, and then just slowly gently pull the foil off the jelly.

  • Actually, this is the most painstaking moment in the manufacture of this product.
  • So, you have a waffle below, a layer of jelly lies on it, and on top, using a pastry bag (milk bag), apply whipped cream. Decorate with strawberries, cut or whole.

Somehow saw this recipe 🔗 and these waffles sunk into my soul. I don't have a waffle iron, but the idea itself never left. Seeing the Honeycomb cookies, I decided to try my own version. I must say that the "debut" was more than successful.
