Form for small loaves / baguettes - do it yourself

I want a baguette holder !!!
But I don't have a baguette holder !!!
And not so often I bake baguettes in order to search for it on the Internet and purchase another baking sheet! Although I don’t deny - maybe I’ll get it ...

A couple of years ago I made a baguette maker myself and successfully baked small 27 x 6 cm bars in it.
The form is outdated and today I made a new form, which took about 30 minutes!

Show and tell!

We need:
regular baking sheet
foil for baking 4 sheets equal to 1.5 baking sheet lengths.
ruler
paper clips large

We do:
1.Take the foil and put it together in two sheets and put it on a baking sheet.
2. Gently bend folds from foil equal to the height of the ruler about 4 cm (wrap the ruler with foil).
3. make folds with a distance of about 6-7 cm from each other. (Calculate yourself what size the loaves will be baked)
3. we fasten the folds with large paper clips so that the folds do not diverge to the sides.
4.Wrap the foil down on both sides of the baking sheet so that the form holds firmly on the baking sheet.
5. for baking, then on the foil (in the holes) you can put parchment paper, grease with a little oil and then lay the dough for proofing and then bake on the same paper.

1. All you need is 4 sheets of standard foil width and 1.5 baking sheet lengths. So?
and we lay them 2 sheets overlapping to close the bottom?
2. how to wrap a ruler, put it under the bottom of the foil? and the ruler should be the full width of the baking sheet?
3.It's still not clear - do you have this foil then forever on this baking sheet?

We take 4 or 6 sheets of foil 1.5 times the length of the baking sheet or more, it all depends on your baking sheet and what height you will make the sides - your sizes!
Since the foil is thin and fragile, we fold 2 sheets. I had enough for a baking sheet 2 rows of 2 sheets together - you measure your baking sheet.

We fold the foil 2 sheets together, then make another seam in the middle to make a large sheet of foil in the entire baking sheet.

There is no need to wrap the ruler! We just put a ruler under the foil, put the foil on top so as to hug the ruler from all (three) sides, make, mark a fold, when it works out - we take out the ruler completely, and crush the fold, give this side an even correct view along the height of the future baguette. The ruler does not have to be the length of the baking sheet, you can move it under the foil. And if everything turns out to be done neatly and by eye, you can do without a ruler at all.

I have a free baking sheet, and this foil form lies on it all the time. The form does not require large care, if only it is wiped before baking, and I bake and spread the dough and baguettes on paper or a towel, laying them between the sides of the form.

Like this....

Thanks again!
I just thought, maybe, by analogy, you can build a mold for bread ...
I really want a rectangular one, but I don't have it.
just take more layers of foil ...))

Not worth it - but you can always try!
The baguettes are small, light and long, and lie loosely, not high.

The bread piece is heavy, takes up a lot of space - therefore, when the dough is raised, the walls of the foil mold can "crawl", part in different directions!
Therefore, it will be more practical to buy real forms, glass, black non-stick or others, they turn out good bread!

Admin, I'm with a report. I made a "baguette" in this way Fast, not expensive, and a good result in my opinion

Form for small loaves / baguettes - we do it yourself!

I have a small baking sheet (24x34) from an old and long ago discarded grill. It is rusted already. But it was a pity to throw everything out. So I adapted it for two baguettes. She wrapped it in foil and only then fenced off the baguette holder itself.

Thanks for the idea! I was looking for a baking dish for baguettes and came across this Temko, how simple it is! And then my baguettes looked more like pretzels

Well, since such a booze has gone, then I also boast of a home-made baguette holder! (And I’m not just talking about booze ...)
A baguette holder made of a metal tube for alcoholic beverages - is made in 15 minutes (preferably with man's hands, but I think that ladies can do it too) Execution of a husband, but the idea is naturally mine

Well, I think how to do it from the picture is clear - the tube from Becherovka was specifically used.

Until there was a baguette holder, I placed it between the folds of a silicone mat, put something on the sides of the latter to restrict (rectangular shapes, for example), and grab the edges along the length with clothespins. A rug on a baking sheet, then I removed the clothespins, pushed the rug a little before baking and put it in the oven on the same sheet and rug. All the loaves that were shown on the forum were prepared in this way.

Tanya, a question !!! I made such a baguette holder from foil and paper, and now I'm thinking. Do you need to lubricate it? HA!!! Found

That's lovely!!! And I’m breaking my head))) By the way, from a huge box of chocolates (thick cardboard) I made the same principle for proving loaves, but I didn’t document the foil for baking) Thank you very much!

Girls, hello! And happy holiday to you!
Probably, this has already been discussed more than once. If so, tell me where to read.
Send me molds for bread made of cast aluminum - Balezinsky plant (like so). I washed them, dried them, and now what? Is it necessary to ignite or not? Here is exactly this question.

An idea to continue the topic. Fine mesh, bend (as a base), bake, lay out with foil or baking paper and go.

White corners - this is my husband made from waste of window production I assemble the structure on a baking sheet. I also secure the corners with something heavy (such as rectangular bread molds). There are two enough clothespins, and they are better as in the photo - ordinary ones fly off due to the elasticity of the rug. After about 10 minutes, I remove them altogether, everything is held by the dough. After proofing, I make cuts, disassemble the structure, stretch the rug, and the dough endures all this! and so I put it in the oven, the dough does not spread. But I designed this for two baguettes. Next time I want to divide the same dough into 4 parts, I'll have to think - probably put it across the rug. In general, we solve problems as they come!
And here is the result (baked yesterday, and photographed the structure today)

I was not going to bake today, but my hands were itching to try to make a construction from a silicone mat for four baguettes. Here's what happened:

Swan-Seagull, IrinkaIt turned out so great Construction talent + culinary skill
With a rug, I like that the barrels of the loaf are open when baking. But I still want to "pin down" the rug in the middle, so as not to squeeze the workpiece. Although in ready-made bars, it seems, the barrel line is smoothed out. I'll have to try

I always dreamed of buying special molds for baguettes. I did not find cheap ones, but refrained from buying expensive ones because of inconstancy. That is, I thought that I would buy forms, but I would not want to bake the baguettes.
Found this wonderful theme! Now I have luxurious baguettes baked in a cut can of expensive alcohol. Thank you, needlewomen!
