Fish soup with chicken broth

Ingredients

chicken broth
Pearl barley
(you can use already boiled pearl barley)
Potatoes
Fresh fish (fresh frozen)
in my case, perch fillet
Spice
salt, freshly ground white pepper, fresh dill

Cooking method

  • Pour broth into a saucepan, add raw pearl barley and boil it until tender over low heat.
  • I add potatoes in pieces, bring to readiness, over low heat.
  • Now I put in the perch fillet, white pepper, finely chopped fresh dill - and cook everything over low heat until the fish is ready.
  • It gets ready quickly. You need to stir very carefully so that the pieces of fish are not damaged and it does not fall apart into small pieces, and the broth itself so that it remains transparent.
  • We taste it, add what is still missing.
  • All!!! Fish soup is ready!
  • Serve the soup fresh and hot !!!

Note

I make such a soup only on white simple fish or fish, which is very low in fat and will not give the normal rich broth and taste. For example: perch fillet, cod, pollock and other similar fish.
Red expensive fish (salmon, salmon, trout), and sturgeon themselves are tasty and rich fish, to cook it in chicken broth as well, the wonderful taste and smell of this fish will go away.

I use plain chicken broth. Part of the broth with chicken meat goes for its intended purpose, and part of it I filter and use for fish soup.
The broth from the freezer will also be used - and there I always have strained chicken broth for all occasions.
We eat and enjoy the taste of fish cooked in chicken broth!
