Babycook Original Steamer Blender

My favorite multicooker-pressure cooker-slow cooker STEBA broke. Of course, I will repair it, but this is no longer very reliable and a replacement is needed. Anyway, I want something new.

I have the following requirements for the device: the volume of the bowl is 6 liters, the presence of a cooking mode under pressure, the ability to cook food at temperatures below 100 degrees with an accurate temperature setting. Well, understandably, reliability, durability, a bowl with a good coating. It seems to be nothing supernatural, but I got the feeling that in order to replace the Shtebochka, I would need two devices - a pressure cooker and a multicooker. However, kind people advised me to pay attention to the REDMOND line and now the RMC-PM380 is coming to me.

Specifications:
Power 1000 W
Bowl volume 6 liters
Bowl coating non-stick Daikin
Removable lid

UNPACKING AND PACKAGING

The device arrived in a colorful box, which indicated the technical characteristics, a list of programs with photographs of ready-made dishes and all kinds of advertising.
REDMOND RMC-PM380
Inside the top and bottom there are foam gaskets, right under the lid there is a sales receipt and a service book.
REDMOND RMC-PM380
The device itself is packed in a bag, thanks to the gaskets in the box, it sits tightly, does not dangle.
REDMOND RMC-PM380
The bowl is also packed in a separate bag. Inside the bowl there is an instruction manual, a recipe book, accessories.
REDMOND RMC-PM380
The appliance comes with a metal stand for a double boiler, a double boiler (plastic), a spoon, a ladle, a measuring cup and a small drip tray, which I discovered later and was not indicated in the list.
REDMOND RMC-PM380
The multicooker itself is very nice, compact. Here, in comparison with the 6-liter Shteba - it looks clearly smaller.
REDMOND RMC-PM380
Here is a rear view, with kaplesbronik.
REDMOND RMC-PM380
In the upper part of the device there are very convenient plastic handles, for which you can safely rearrange the multicooker even during operation. An open lid fits perfectly there, which is very important for a small kitchen, where there is simply nowhere to attach such a bandura.
REDMOND RMC-PM380
At the bottom of the device there is a plastic tab, into which a spoon is supposed to be placed. Quite a strange solution, I will hardly use it.

PROGRAMS

The appliance has 6 automatic programs operating in pressure cooker mode:
1. Rice / cereals
2. Steam / cooking
3. Stewing / aspic
4. Soup
5. languor
6. Pilaf
In all these programs it is possible to change the pressure level (three values) and the cooking time. The cooking time countdown starts from the moment you enter the working mode
There are also 8 automatic programs operating in multicooker mode:
1. Vacuum (sous-vid)
2. Bread
3. Baking
4. Frying / deep frying
5. Yogurt / dough
6. Milk porridge
7. Baby food
8. Express
In all these programs it is possible to change the cooking time, in the Vacuum, Baking, Frying / deep-frying, Milk porridge and Baby food programs, you can also change the cooking temperature in 1 degree increments. On the programs Vacuum, Bread, Baking, Yogurt / dough, the countdown starts from the moment of start, on the rest - from the moment of entering the operating mode.

TESTING

EXPRESS

There was no such program at Shtebe, so I started my acquaintance with Redmond with it. So, 2 cups of washed buckwheat, 4 cups of boiling water, salt.
REDMOND RMC-PM380
After starting the program, the display does not show the time, only a running frame.
REDMOND RMC-PM380
The contents of the pan boiled after 8 minutes from switching on and boiled intensively for another 20 minutes. Then the hiss of the valve became quieter and after 40 minutes after switching on it almost completely died down. The program ended 50 minutes after switching on.
The result is the perfect crumbly buckwheat porridge.

LANGUOR

While my Shteba was broken, I really missed Elena Tim's homemade stew. And now I can finally cook this dish.
So, beef shank b / c 2300 g, salt, onion, bay leaf, dry garlic, dill, parsley. Cooking time 1 hour 40 minutes.
REDMOND RMC-PM380
The countdown started 18 minutes after switching on. The display shows the time until the end of the program.
After the end of the program, the pressure was relieved forcibly. The meat turned out to be soft, but not boiled into porridge, just what you need.

STEWING + FRYING / FRYING

I often cook stews, this is an actual program for me.
So, turkey thigh fillet 1500 g, onion, salt, spices, vegetable oil.
Fried the meat in a skillet until golden brown. At the same time, I sautéed onions in a multicooker using the Frying / deep-frying program. I liked the Frying program very much, it is ideal for sautéing vegetables.
I put the meat on the onion, added hot water so that it almost covered the meat and set the Stew program for 25 minutes. The countdown started pretty quickly, the exact time was not recorded.
The meat turned out to be very soft, but not boiled. It seemed to me that those pieces that were not covered with water turned out to be harder, but then, when I put the meat into the pan, and everything was mixed, it was no longer noticeable.

SOUP + FRYING / FRYING

I really like pressure cooker soups, especially because the broth and the soup are boiled at the same time.
So, turkey shoulder (raw), two packs of Seven Beans soup, carrots, onions, garlic, vegetable oil.
On the Frying / Frying program, I sautéed vegetables - 10 minutes at 165 degrees + 8 minutes at 155 degrees.
I put the turkey in a saucepan, covered the bean mixture and filled it with cold water up to the maximum mark. Put on the Soup program, the pressure is high, the default time is 20 minutes.
The valve closed 25 minutes after switching on, after another 6 minutes the pressure gained and the countdown began. After that, I was able to set the desired cooking time - 35 minutes.
After the signal about the end of cooking, I did not forcibly release steam, I decided to check how long it would take to depressurize. In Shteba, usually after 25 minutes, it was already possible to open the lid. In Redmond, after 35 minutes of waiting, the float had not yet fallen; nevertheless, the remaining steam had to be forced off. After opening the lid, the soup was still simmering. I took out the turkey, it was completely boiled and moved away from the bone.
REDMOND RMC-PM380
I cut the meat and returned it to the soup, salted it, brought it to a boil on the Fry and turned it off.
It turned out to be a wonderful rich soup, all the beans are boiled until soft.

RICE / CEREALS + FRYING / FRYING

I have a very successful recipe for rice with vegetables as a side dish, I often cook it in various variations.
So, parboiled rice - 2 glasses, water + white wine - 3 glasses, onions, carrots, sunflower oil, salt, spices.
Set the fry / deep fat program, the default time is 18 minutes, the temperature is 165 degrees. After the signal, she poured vegetable oil, put chopped onions and sautéed for 5 minutes. Then I added carrots, cut into thin strips and sautéed for another 5 minutes. I added dry rice to the vegetables and cooked until the end of the program.
I poured boiling water over (I replaced 150 grams of boiling water with white wine), salted, put spices (this time I had Italian herbs) and set the Rice / cereals program, the default time is 10 minutes. The valve rose after 4 minutes, and after another minute the countdown began. Time did not change.
After the end of the program, the pressure was relieved forcibly. Rice according to this recipe always turns out crumbly, does not stick together. It seemed to me that the rice was dry on the top, and moist below. I mixed it and left it on the heat. While they ate the soup and it came to the second, the rice all leveled off and in general it turned out very successful.

YOGHURT / DOUGH

Since I did not find in the instructions what temperature is supported on this program, I decided to test it on water.
So, 0.5 liters of water, temperature probe.
Set the Yogurt / dough program for 1 hour. I put the temperature probe on the bottom of the pan. Due to the thermometer wire, the lid did not close tightly, it was simply covered.
In the first 3 minutes, the temperature rose from 23 to 40 degrees, for 15 minutes it stayed at this level, then dropped slightly. Most of the time, the device maintained 37-38 degrees. I think this is a good result. True, for proving the dough, I prefer a lower temperature, but for sour milk it will be just right.
I didn't think to take a photo, take my word for it.

MILK Porridge
This program is not very much in demand with us, but for the experiment, I still tried to cook milk buckwheat porridge according to the recipe from the attached collection.
So, 750 ml of milk, 150 grams of buckwheat, salt, sugar.
I loaded the groceries early in the morning, immediately set the time to 30 minutes and a delay of 1 hour and 10 minutes. Although the program is pressureless, the recipe states that the valve must be closed.
After the end of the delay, the clock began to blink, the multicooker went into working mode after 15 minutes.
After the end of the program, I immediately opened the lid. The buckwheat was completely cooked, but the porridge turned out to be a little strange - cereals separately, milk separately.
REDMOND RMC-PM380
Perhaps, to get a more viscous porridge, it was necessary to not rinse the buckwheat so thoroughly, or even take another cereal. In principle, on this program there is an opportunity to play with the cooking time and temperature, but since we rarely eat milk porridge, I’m hardly going to do it now.

VACUUM

I was very interested in this program, tk. allows you to make sous vide, boil ham and cheese. For the test, I decided to make a turkey roll according to the recipe from the forum.
So, 900 grams of turkey thigh fillet, suluguni cheese, butter, salt, spices.
She rubbed the meat with salt and spices, laid out pieces of butter and cheese, rolled it up and vacuumized.
REDMOND RMC-PM380
REDMOND RMC-PM380
I put a bag of meat in a bowl, filled it with hot water from the tap, set the temperature to 65 degrees and the time to 6 hours 30 minutes. I put the temperature probe into the pan and closed the lid. Close completely failed due to the temperature probe wire. She turned on the device, the countdown began.
After a while, I noticed that the temperature is not only not growing, but even falling a little. She removed the thermometer, closed the lid as expected, and immediately the relay began to click and the heating began. It turns out that it does not work on this program with the lid open, it's a pity.
Because of these dances, I did not measure the time it took for the water to reach the set temperature. Further, in the process of work, I measured the temperature of the water in the bowl several times - it was always 65 degrees (the thermometer reads on the right), an excellent result.
REDMOND RMC-PM380
After the end of the program, I immersed the bag in a sink with cold water and went to bed. The next morning I had a wonderful tea cuts.

BAKERY PRODUCTS

I'm not a fan of multicooker baked goods. At the dawn of my acquaintance with Shteba, I tried to bake charlotte in it. Eighty minutes until cooked (versus forty minutes in the oven) disappointed me, I no longer experimented. However, in the book of recipes that came with the appliance, I found a description of the preparation of a certain smoked chicken on the Baking program and decided to try it.
So, chicken breast fillet 500 grams, "liquid smoke", salt, spices. The chicken was cut into pieces of about 100 grams each, rubbed with salt and spices, smeared with "liquid smoke", wrapped in several layers of foil, put in a bowl and started the Baking program, time 40 minutes.
REDMOND RMC-PM380
The chicken turned out to be juicy and aromatic, slightly browned underneath. Very quickly went to sandwiches and salad.

The programs Pilaf, Bread and Baby food are completely irrelevant for me, I did not test them.

CONCLUSIONS

In general, the impressions of the device are extremely positive. There are many different programs with and without pressure, all work correctly. Conveniently, you can set the cooking time not only before the start of the program, but also during operation. Nice appearance, removable lid, good coating of the bowl - all these are obvious advantages.
Disadvantages may be discovered over time, but have not yet been identified.
I can safely recommend the REDMOND RMC-PM380 multicooker-pressure cooker to all housewives.
