 Wooden houses have always been considered the most environmentally friendly structures. Such houses have not only pleasant internal atmospheric, but also excellent sound insulation.
When starting to build a house out of wood, you must definitely take care of its further insulation. After all, thanks to the insulation, you do not have to spend a lot of money on heating the entire wooden house. Insulation of a wooden house can be carried out both outside and inside the premises. It is recommended to carry out internal insulation of the house using dense materials.
But for external insulation, materials that have a porous composition and prevent moisture from entering the house are better suited. When insulating a house from the inside, you need to take into account the factor that when installing a heater, the useful area of the room will be reduced. Therefore, if your house is small, it is not necessary to insulate it from the inside. Only external insulation will be enough.
A material such as mineral wool is excellent for insulating a wooden house from the outside. This material has excellent thermal insulation properties and is relatively inexpensive to purchase.
If the house is built with smooth planks, it is necessary to ensure good ventilation of the walls. This requires a high-quality vapor barrier of the building. Good ventilation throughout the structure will protect the wooden house from moisture accumulation and will prevent the formation of rot on the wooden structure.
Vapor barrier is carried out using roofing material or foil. In addition to the above materials, there is also a special vapor barrier film. And although the price of such a film is slightly higher than the price of roofing material or foil, nevertheless, this material is much better and more reliable. After installing the vapor barrier, a frame is attached to the house, the width of which should vary from 7 to 10 cm and a thickness of 5 cm. When driving the boards with an edge, it is necessary to ensure that the distance between the boards is 3 cm more than the width of the insulation itself.
After the installation of the frame and vapor barrier is completed, you can start installing the insulation itself. Insulation is laid in two layers. It should be remembered that there should be no gaps between the boards and the insulation. To provide protection against moisture, a special film is attached to the frame, which should not allow moisture to pass through and pass steam well.
Before finishing the final finishing of the building, you need to ensure that the air circulates well between the outer cladding of the wooden house and the vapor barrier. Slats are attached to the frame boards, the thickness of which should not exceed 5 cm. This is necessary so that the air does not allow condensation that forms on the waterproofing film to accumulate and contribute to the formation of harmful mold or mildew. The space that eventually formed at the very bottom of the structure must be closed with a metal mesh.
The procedure for insulating a wooden house is a rather difficult undertaking, and it is not always possible to carry out it yourself. Such work requires a lot of skill and good practice.
