Philips HR 2874 blender reviewIt all started with the fact that I needed a coffee grinder (a grinder for a small amount of food). I went to the store to feel it with my own hands, and since I have long wanted to buy myself a blender that would not take up much space, I decided to look at the blenders as well. And then I saw the hero of today's review - miniblender Philips Daily Collection HR2874 / 00... Small, with several attachments, including a chopper just for a couple of spoons of something.

I am not a supporter of the impulsive purchase of equipment, but when in my presence the price tag was changed to 2 times cheaper, I wavered, picked up the box with the blender and ran with it to the cashier.
This is the background. And now, actually, about the blender.

Here is such a compact, lightweight box.

On the lid of the box - pictures-instructions:

And here is a set of documentation:

On thin gray paper, in many languages, no prescriptions required. Actually, all instructions are pictures for assembly and disassembly and scanty table-picture information about the maximum load and operating time.

I don’t know about you, I don’t like instructions-pictures, it’s clearer for me when text instructions are attached.
We got to the pieces of paper, it's time to talk about the characteristics. The power of the unit is 350 watts. Not much, but its volumes are also modest.
Here is the complete set of the blender:

The blender has one operating mode - pulse.
I was pleased that Philips has provided a recess into which you can conveniently wind the wire.
What is not very pleasing: all the mounts are made of plastic, it looks fragile and not very reliable, although the manufacturer gives a 2-year warranty for its product. However, see for yourself:

But ... this thing was bought to work. Let's start field tests.
Blender. Based on the Sybarita cocktail. 100 g light cottage cheese + 100 g homemade yogurt + half a banana:

2 times for 5 sec. work:

The cocktail is ready. Small pieces of banana are present. You could let the blender run for another 10 seconds. I think he would have handled the pieces. But I like the pieces better. The texture of the cocktail is airy. I believe that the blender coped with the task. Serve immediately in a sports glass. Convenient, thoughtful. There is a scale on the glass -

- you can drink 100 g and put off the rest for later. Here I give Phillips a plus.
Now let's test the chopper. He was given the task of grinding 2 tablespoons. oat bran into flour. I test on small volumes, because it was for them that this machine was purchased.

We turn the glass over, fill in the bran, put on the knife, turn it over again, put it on the motor block. By the way, there is a mark on the glass of the maximum allowable volume of loaded products. Conveniently. We turn on the blender. He handles small portions easily. See which cyclone is inside the tank during operation.

Several cycles of 5 sec. I'm happy with the result. Here's what happened and what became:

However, the knives got very hot during operation and smelled noticeably of something technical, although I did not exceed the permissible time modes, and the load was minimal. This alarmed. Let's see how the chopper behaves further.
Now let's test the mesh filter. We insert it into the blender bowl:

I poured frozen lingonberries inside the filter:

I deliberately did not add water immediately. I wanted to see how the filter would behave.
5 sec. work.

The inside of the filter is puree, the outside of the bowl is clean.

I add some water, another 5 sec. work.

The result was a clean fruit drink, all the skins remained inside the filter:

The blender passed this test perfectly.

My findings:

What I bought this blender for, it does very well. From a functional point of view, everything is thought out: for all containers there are lids for further storage or transportation. There are labels for the maximum amount of downloadable products.
Easy to assemble and disassemble. It can be easily washed under running cold water. The small dimensions of the device itself make it possible to stick it even in the busiest kitchen; it does not require much space either during operation or during storage. High quality plastic, odorless. These are the pros.
Of the minuses, I would note the paucity of the attached documentation, the absence of text instructions and a recipe book. Do not give the impression of a reliable plastic mount. Well, I was scared by the strong heating of the chopper knives.

My opinion. If the small size of the device is fundamentally important to you, you plan to prepare small portions of cocktail juices or you need to grind 1 tbsp. bran is the device for you. But if you measure the volume drunk in liters))) or want to grind 100 g of coffee beans, then you better pay attention to other devices.
